Playschool

    At Brentwood's Learn and Play Playschool we will be following the Pocket of Playschool curriculum with bits and pieces of the Flight curriculum. Both are very hands on engaging curriculums that allow the children to learn through play, creativity and exploring.   Throughout the day we will participate in teacher led activities such as group discussions, story time, songs and journal activities.  They will include both large and small group activities.  Students will engage in outside time when weather permits or gym time when it is to cold.  During playtime they have the opportunity to explore six different centers which include a literacy center, dramatic play, building, sensory, math/science and art.  

    Our Playschool room will be led by Ms. Sam Woodley. She is often known for her never ending empathy, love and care.  Sam grew up in Strathmore and attended Brentwood as a student, later to return as an educational assistant in Kindergarten and grade 1. Throughout her 4 years with the school she worked with a large variety of needs from speech, OT and PT to ADHD and Autism. Three years ago she began the process of opening the Before and After school program.  In 2021, with the help of her team expanded to include Playschool for 3 year old's and 4 year old's and we could not be more excited.   You are in great hands!
