About Us
Brentwood's Learn and Play Before and After is a great way for kids to socialize, explore, create and grow. The program is full of open ended toys that grow your child's creativity, problem solving skills and social skills. We create both product art and process art through teacher directed crafts and our Makerspace. This year we have added a loose parts area where students can explore different materials before creating and building masterpieces. Brentwood's Learn and Play is a firm believer in getting outside and enjoying the fresh air so be sure to dress for the weather.
Our Before and After room is ran by Ms. Jane Geddes. She comes to us with over 10 years experience. Her patience and calm nature is felt the minute you walk in the room. Don't let that fool you though, the kids find her to be quite goofy. She always seems to know what type of role model they need at every given moment and is exactly that. The bond that she creates with each student is like no other.
Our program runs from 6:30 am - 6 pm Monday to Friday including PD, FLEX and Teacher Convention week. We are closed for Easter and Christmas break.
Philosophy
Brentwood's Learn and Play believes that every child maters and when given the opportunity to explore, discover and play they will excel. Our rooms are set up in a way where students can grow through play and exploration. Staff are there to guide and celebrate their growth, exploration and discovery in a positive and encouraging way. Yet introduce new areas of interest. We want the kids to love learning so strive to provide an engaging, changing and evolving program that meets the kids needs. The love and compassion you will receive throughout the year will make you feel like you are part of a family.
